Using the Dialog "New Entity Classes from Database" Step 4. "Mapping Option" -> "Attributes for Regenerating Tables" gives me wrong length for java.lang.String when using a Database with single byte string fields like DB2's GRAPHIC.

@Column(name = "MILITM", length = 12)

instead of

@Column(name = "MILITM", length = 6)

This was resulting in a confusing DB2 ERROR -302 22001.
