Amazon ELB, Tomcat, and sticky-sessions

All,

I've been looking into using Amazon EC2 instances with Tomcat. Alone,
they seem to run fairly well together. I'm wondering about using
Amazon's ELB (Elastic Load Balancer) with Tomcat and sticky sessions.

I've been using mod_jk for years to connect httpd and Tomcat, and
using ELB would pretty much obviate the need for me to use httpd for
load-balancing.

Except that I have multiple webapps each running under a separate
instance of Tomcat.

If I use ELB in this context, it seems that I will still have to run
httpd on my EC2 instances because I suspect that ELB doesn't have the
kind of configuration that would allow me to support sticky sessions
and multiplex across different webapps using a URL prefix for each one.

Does anyone have any experience with Amazon ELB and Tomcat who could
comment on such a setup?
