JavaScript and Validator

I'm beginning using the Struts-validator for basic client side
validation, but would like to also use other JavaScripts within the page
mostly to hide and show elements based on the users decisions. These
scripts work fine without validaor, but with it I get  "Error in page"
in the browsers message bar. I'm sure it's simplefix , but I can't get
it to work. I would appreciate any assistance.
