[logging] commons-logging-api.jar?


I am sure this is a FAQ - but I havent found an answer....

Why are there two jars commons-logging-api.jar and commons-logging.jar?

It seems that commons-logging-api.jar is more than just api - it has (only)
the jdk14 logging implementation.

Some explanation in the readme and on the website would be nice :-)

history :)

it seemed like a good idea at the time to produce one smaller jar which
could be compiled against and a more complete one for runtime. proved
to have some drawbacks and a minimal kernal plus extensions would have
been better. JCL is very widely used so fixed somethings is difficult.
