[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-1287) First class EditorConfig support

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-1287?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17619660#comment-17619660 ]

Thorsten Schöning commented on NETBEANS-1287:
---------------------------------------------

bq. [...]Call formatting action on a file (folder/multiple files if possible), call prettier CLI with arguments, format file(s) via editorconfig for example.

But EditorConfig is not only about formatting file content when saving, the contents need the correct indentation, encoding and stuff already when the file is initially opened.

> I know there is an unofficial plugin for EditorConfig, but (a) I don't think it works very well atm, and (b) I think it's important enough that there should be first-class support for EditorConfig built right into NetBeans, so that it can be a fully co-operative member of the development tools ecosystem :).
