> The ExternalContext does URL encoding for JSF.  Although JSF 2.0 introduced some more specific encoding types, there are still other encoding types which are not covered.  In an effort to help remove some ambiguity and open the door for other types of remote solutions, we need a URL Encoder mechanism which is separate from JSF but it also integrated with it in order to ease URL encoding for our components.
