Re: [JENKINS] Lucene-9.12-Windows (64bit/hotspot/jdk-21.0.6) - Build # 662 - Unstable!
Hi,
this one is not critical for the release; it is caused by Windows 11
instead of Windows 10 on the Policeman Jenkins WIndows machine. The test
is buggy as something has changed in Windows 11: GITHUB#14627,
GITHUB#11920: Fix mock filesystem WindowsFS to also work on Windows.
This is required to make tests pass on Windows 11 which no longer has
all limitations of previous Windows versions. (Uwe Schindler)
I don't think this is a critical issue. If we respin we can backport it:

Thanks Uwe for a prompt fix. I could successfully rebuild and smoke test
the artifacts.
Test Maven artifacts...
download artifacts
..................................................................................................................................................................................
verify that each binary artifact has a deployed POM...
verify Maven artifacts' md5/sha1 digests...
check for javadoc and sources artifacts...
verify deployed POMs' coordinates...
.
unpack lucene-9.12.3.tgz...
verify that Maven artifacts are same as in the binary distribution...
verify JAR metadata/identity/no javax.* or java.* classes...
SUCCESS! [0:49:24.321145]

It was fixed. The new 2-arg nextInt() method was not available in Java
11. I just changed to add 2 to have a lower bound.

Hi,
https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/14706 only fixes a random bug
which is caused by an incorrectly generated filename which is assumed to
be "incorrect" but it isn't on a real windows. So yes, after 14627 it
should be green most of the time, but accasionally fails du to this:
// We need at least 2 chars before the special character, because
resolving a drive
// letter (C:) or a path starting with "/" will not fail on real Windows.
So ideally both should be backported (which would make the Changes entry
identical).

Okay, never mind. The build seems to be green after cherry-picking
https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/14627 to 9.12 branch. So that is the
only change we need it seems.

Hi Uwe,
I can pick up this change for 9.12 RC2 build. I am wondering if we also
need https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/14706 in addition to
https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/14627 for addressing this issue?
