Rat, Wisker, and tentacles

I note that all 3 of these project fall under the "creadur" moniker. Are
they intended to work together?

I note that Rat has the capability of examining archives and that a quick
reading of tentacles indicates that it does the same.

Any guidance concerning how these tools are to be used together would be
appreciated.

To be honest: Tentacles, and Wisker are (in my opinion) basically
dormant. To me, the question is when (as opposed to: if) we need to
archive both?

Hi,

thanks for asking/starting a discussion concerning the other creadur
subprojects!

When RAT was under more active development these subprojects were
created: I assume they were meant to be more of what today's bill of
materials (BOM) overview shows (=Whisker).

Recursively scan whole application dependency trees and printout
information about their licensing (=Tentacles).

As both projects are relatively young maybe any of its users can shed
more light into the discussion.

To my mind RAT is the minimal set of "license scanning" found in many
ASF projects :)
