[Issue 124715] New: User-defined dictionaries lack Import/Export feature

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124715

          Issue ID: 124715
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: User-defined dictionaries lack Import/Export feature
           Product: Writer
           Version: 4.0.1
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: save-export
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: johnhsneed@gmail.com

I use a user-defined dictionary in v4.0.1.
I would like to migrate my dictionary over to v4.1,
There is no function to accomplish an import/export for my dictionary (the
dictionary is not even saved in the filesystem as a unique file).
Now I have to re-populate a new file in v4.1?

Help?

Applicable to the "IgnoreAll" list also.

This is no duplicate. Issue 118528 is about autocorrect list and this one is
about a dictionary.

The user dictionaries are stored in the folder "workbook" in the "user"
directory. When you install version 4.1 over a previous 4.0.1 the default
behavior is, that the old user directory is retained. To be sure backup the
folder before installing. The user dictionaries are .dic files. You can simply
copy them to the new workbook folder if needed, for example when moving to a
new hardware. A user dictionary is a plain text file. In contrast to the
autocorrect list no special import or export is needed.
