Result [VOTE] Using 2.3 branch
Mornin,
I think its time to close the VOTE as i started it at 18.12.06. So here we go..
1) Commit fixes and new "minor" features to 2.3 branch
Binding:
[-1] 3 Stefano, Bernd, Norman
[-0] 0
[+0] 0
[+1] 1 Vinzeno
Non Binding;
[-1] 1 Joachim
[-0] 0
[+0] 0
[+1] 0
2) Commit only bugfixes to 2.3 branch
Binding:

[-0] 1 Vinzeno
[+0] 0
[+1] 3 Stefano, Bernd, Norman

[-0] 0

[+1] 1 Joachim
So i think i will "move" the current 2.3 branch to next-minor branch and start a new 2.3 branch from 2_3_0 tag. After that we should do first the header updates. When this is done we should merge the bugfixes.

I've updated the status file with the numbers of the binding votes, so
that it is clear what was decided.

Please take care to not loose (re-apply/merge) my commits r469117 and
r475204.
They are website/documentation fixes already deployed.

Until the functionality vetoed by Stefano is in place, you can consider my
vote on the release to be -1. I think that the behavior towards our users
is unconscionable and inexcusable, and I will not support any further
releases of JAMES that do not include such changes.
By the way, what was just done in SVN makes little sense. We now have a
next-minor branch that is backlevel from the intended 2.3.1, and which
should be discarded as soon as the changes are merged into the real
next-minor, which should be the linear successor to 2.3.1, except that there
really shouldn't be both.
