Why is org.apache.tomcat.net.SSLSocketFactory not compiled in Tomcat 3.2b2?

I'm using Tomcat 3.2b2 and I was able to get the SSL support to work. Good
job on this BTW.

However, I'm wondering why org.apache.tomcat.net.SSLSocketFactory wasn't
already built? It's not really a big issue, I just wasn't sure if there was
some reason for this or if it was just overlooked.
