ActionErrors for General Messages

I am thinking of using ActionErrors for general messaging on my pages.  Since I have the hrml:errors tag, placed well for messages to the user, I would like to pass messages such as "Operation Successful", or "Item Added"

Is it ok to use the ActionErrors this way?  Any reason to call it bad practice?  Seems very convenient... for more than just errors.
