As a PMC and/or release manager, I want the possibility to check uploaded packages to have the proper name, given mask or a pattern that I pre-configure. This to prevent easiuly preventable human error.
Both semver and calver can be supported by specific signifiers %M - major, %m - minor, %t tiny, or %y - year, %m - month. Note I keep minor and month the same here as I don't think It would be really conflicting but further analysis might be needed.

@DaanHoogland live now - in the Lifecycle tab of project settings, if you make sure you fill in the version regex, then tick the box saying filenames must contain the version, ATR will stop you using a file that doesn't. Give it a shot and let me know how it looks!

Thanks @DaanHoogland - in project settings you can configure the versioning scheme (semver/calver) using a regex. I wonder if this requirement would be satisfied by adding a checkbox to that screen to mandate that the detected version number appears in file names (which we'd use a check for if the box was enabled)

ok tnx, we are using it now for the cloudstack-kubernetes-provider as a PoC. One minor issue; we used to use -rc# version extensions on votes, It seems we need to abandon that custom. I wonder how this will work out with unmutable tags later on. Maybe a discussion for later.

@alitheg , so the signifiers for major/minow/tiny are not implemented? just a \d*\.\d*\.\d* kind of pattern? (which is fine btw)

No worries. You'll be able to encode the rc# part in the regex if you want to keep doing it in ATR, but it does mean that's the name of the version that will be published to dist. Mostly, we consider a release in ATR an RC so it doesn't get tagged as such explicitly, and the passing of the vote "promotes" it.

Not specifically - we only tokenised the calver D/M/Y etc. For semver, because the format is just dotted, I just used a regex like that.
