[jira] [Created] (SLING-3039) Obsolete events should be removed in batches from the resource tree

Carsten Ziegeler created SLING-3039:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Obsolete events should be removed in batches from the resource tree
                 Key: SLING-3039
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-3039
             Project: Sling
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Extensions
    Affects Versions: Extensions Event 3.2.0
            Reporter: Carsten Ziegeler
            Assignee: Carsten Ziegeler
             Fix For: Extensions Event 3.2.2

The distributed event receiver removes obsolete events from the resource tree. If e.g. an instance goes down, this can result of a rather large tree being removed.
Removing large trees is problematic with current jackrabbit implementations and should rather be deleted recursively with batch saves in between
