[jira] Updated: (MAVEN-823) documentation can be too up to date
The following issue has been updated:
Updater: Brett Porter (mailto:brettporter@yahoo.com)
Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 5:51 PM
Comment:
the real problem is that we release documentation before we release the product - these apply only to the next Maven release.
The web site documentation should be stable across versions, with the exceptions of some things such as the FAQ. This has been discussed on the mailing list.
We need to decide what will be done and then a strategy for doing it.
Changes:
summary changed from installation docs need help
environment changed from Solaris
priority changed from Blocker
Fix Version changed to 1.0-final

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MAVEN-823
Summary: documentation can be too up to date
Type: Bug
Status: Unassigned
Priority: Critical
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven
Components:
documentation
Fix Fors:
1.0-final
Versions:
1.0-beta-10
Assignee:
Reporter: Elias Sinderson
Created: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 11:55 AM
Updated: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 5:51 PM
Description:
Online installation documentation refers to '$MAVEN_HOME/bin/install_repo.sh' but no such file exists. How are potential users supposed to set up maven if the (apparantly simple) instructions are incorrect?
