[CANCELLED] [VOTE] release cTAKES 2.6-incubating RC1
This vote on this mailing list is cancelled, but please do discuss here.
Once concensus is reached I will post a vote on incubator general.

You need to reach consensus with a new successful vote here
before you can go over to incubator general.
With other words you should prepare a new RC and vote again here,
if you get all the necessary +1 votes you can close the vote and
move over to general and vote there.
Your goal should be to only vote once on general, since that will
take at least 72 hours but often a couple of days more (speaking here
out of
my personal experience with UIMA and OpenNLP).
Thats why we should really make sure we do not have one of the usual
show stoppers in the RC, e.g bad LICENSE file, missing incubator
DISCLAIMER, bad RAT reports, etc.

Hi James,
Regarding the License/Notice, feel free to reuse the NOTICE LICENSE for 2.6 as well from:
trunk/ctakes-distribution/
I manually looked at every bundled jar in the /lib and added it to the NOTICE/LICENSE file.
However, it would be great if you and/or someone else had a second look at it as well for format and completeness.

RE: [CANCELLED] [VOTE] release cTAKES 2.6-incubating RC1
Posted by "Masanz, James J." <Ma...@mayo.edu>.
I do expect 2.6 to be an option for users to really use - for example if someone wants to use the relation extraction module, and has some dependencies on existing code's package names. Or wants to make minor changes to their copy of Apache cTAKES but doesn't want to learn maven yet. In either case they might not be ready to move to 3.0
Whether anyone will actually use it I can't say.
I was thinking of creating new, minimal 2.6 doc on apache.org that has the download instructions and describes the new relation extraction module and how to run it, and refers to 2.5 doc for the rest. What do people think of that?

RE: [CANCELLED] [VOTE] release cTAKES 2.6-incubating RC1
Posted by "Bleeker, Troy C." <Bl...@mayo.edu>.
Will users be expected to use 2.6, since it is really a test that we have everything moved to a new location? I ask because it would affect doc. Will we actually change the 2.6 pages on the old Confluence? Will they say something like, "2.6 is exactly the same as 2.5 except on these few points ...".
I'm still thinking about installing a Confluence at the level of cwiki, populating it, then exporting again so that cwiki can import. It failed previously due to major version differences (Confluence 4 imported to Confluence 3).
Thanks
