Virtual Hosts and Tomcat

I am in the process of setting up a developement environment for
developers in which they can start to experiment with JSP. I have
Tomcat working fine with Stronghold 2.4.2 as far as the standard
install goes (i.e., examples work fine). The problem I am having
is that the way we have things working here for PHP development is
each developer has a workspace in his/her own home directory that is
maintained via CVS. Developers access their workspace via virtual
hosts. The problems I am having now is how exactly I would setup
developers to use JSP. Any recommendations would be greatly
appreciated. BTW - I am fairly new to Servlet technology, JSP, and
mod_jserv.

Thanks!

Not an answer, but I'm seconding the question: How does one do name-based
virtual hosting with Tomcat? Apart from that I've got it all working.

i'm not sure about the virtual host option, i'd be willing to bet that
something workable can be done there, but one thing i do is to
specify a "web app" (aka context) for various release mods. i
specify the context path (in server.xml) to the appropriate web app
build directories. this way, folks can tweak contents in thier own
web app without stepping on each other.

one downside is that if the server needs to be bounced they all
get impacted. the good news is that tomcat cycles pretty quickly.
wiring in a "re-cycle a web app" feature without bouncing the
entire server should help with this one.

hope this helps,
