Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MPWAR-31
Summary: war:deploy does not take maven.war.final.name override into account
Type: Bug
Status: Closed
Priority: Major
Resolution: WON'T FIX
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven-war-plugin
Versions:
1.6

Reporter: James Shute

Environment: I'm using Maven 1.0 on Win2K, though I doubt that is related to the problem
Description:
When using the war:deploy goal if I supply an override to the maven.war.final.name property then the target file ends up with the default name (though it does use the correct file as the source of the copy)
I guess the underlying fault may lie in the artifact plugin (I'm using 1.4) but as the end problem is with the war file I put it here.
If it makes a difference I'm using a file based repository deploy
