Maven jar no pom file was found, assuming default settings!

Using maven 1.1

checked out the 1.4 branch to a local directory \JackRabbit1.4\ and there is
clearly a pom.xml in that directory along with all the \jackrabbit-*\
subdirectories.

So I use the cmd window and navigate to \JackRabbit1.4\ and type "maven jar"

The build first runs and downloads a bunch of maven specific stuff but the
"no pom file was found" and build failed.

subsequent maven jar commands and no better.

It's my site. :-) I guess I must have uploaded a copy of the site to
illustrate some local changes I was making, but it's so far ago that I
don't remember anything specific.

Anyway, I'll replace the copy with a redirect to the official
Jackrabbit site so there won't be other confusions like this.

Jukka,

Thanks, yes now I see it isn't an apache site even though it looked like it.
I found it with a google "jackrabbit building" scary really, like a phishing
site, but I don't see the need or purpose.

I installed Maven 2 and "mvn install" is working as I type this.

Oh, that's a pretty ancient (2006) copy of the web site... Where did
you find a link to that copy?

More recent instructions can be found on the official Jackrabbit web site, at
