need a scope/visibility example (newbie)

Hi folks,

Can someone please tell me how to make the following expression evaluate 
correctly?

<c:if test="${foo == SomeClass.SOME_CONSTANT}">

I know I have to check with the documentation but I'm under pressure and 
can't figure it out right now...
