[jira] [Commented] (HBASE-8107) Allow non-trunk patch to be tested by Hadoop QA

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-8107?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13749518#comment-13749518 ]

Ted Yu commented on HBASE-8107:
-------------------------------

We're having more than two active branches now.

For this feature to work, there needs to be consensus on how the branch name is extracted from patch filename.

>                 Key: HBASE-8107
>                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-8107

> If the contributor clicks 'Submit Patch' button for the backport patch, he / she would get:
> -1 patch. The patch command could not apply the patch.
> I tried patch testing in 0.94 branch locally with the following command:
> {code}
> cd 94hbase
> ~/trunk/dev-support/test-patch.sh --jenkins --basedir=`pwd` HBASE-8085
> {code}
> I used test-patch.sh from trunk because it is up-to-date.
> It seemed to work mostly.
