[jira] [Created] (AMQ-4993) In discovery mode, brokers publish their FQDN, with no option to allow for only the hostname

Ori Popowski created AMQ-4993:
---------------------------------

Summary: In discovery mode, brokers publish their FQDN, with no option to allow for only the hostname
                 Key: AMQ-4993
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-4993
             Project: ActiveMQ
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Broker
         Environment: Linux RHEL
            Reporter: Ori Popowski

When using discovery with multicast (that is, setting the discoveryUri="multicast://default"), the broker publishes its Fully Qualified Domain Name. This leads to publishing hostname.localdomain:61616 instead of just hostname:61616, and makes it impossible for clients to connect, since in some cases hostname.localdomain is an invalid address. Is it possible to configure ActiveMQ to publish only the hostname portion of the address?
