> Purpose: provide extra optional distribution model for Apache projects.
> Currently there is a lot of unofficial docker images with Apache software: dev tools (like Maven, Ivy etc), Httpd, Tomcat, Solr, Hadoop etc. Some of these images were created to simplify software evaluation, some for production-like usage in docker-enabled deployments. Anyway, some people use dockerified apps on a day by day basis and this distribution and runtime model is great at least for evaluation and testing (it's quite unready for production from my point).
> Providing official images by Apache projects can simplify evaluation and adoption of these software by users and give them another great way to quick start. This is reasonable for projects like Zookeeper, Hadoop, Spark etc.
> There can be several ways to achieve this. One is to create internal registry with public read-only access (see INFRA-8441). Another way is to use Apache-controlled account and create automated builds using existent github-dockerhub integration. Or, maybe, to reach an agreement with Docker Inc to get some integration variant good to both sides.
> Also, see TIKA-1518. Since there's no standard way to publish official image, I think, we should at least point users to some simple unofficial images on github with appropriate disclaimer.
