Problem running checkstyle - CheckStyleTask cannot be found

Hi,

Could someone please help me with a problem I am having :

I am running : maven checkstyle

and am getting the output below :

checkstyle:generate-report:

[ERROR] BUILD FAILED
[ERROR] File...... /home/phimge/maven-1.0-beta-7/plugins/maven-checkstyle-plugin-1.1/plugin.jelly
[ERROR] Element... taskdef
[ERROR] Line...... 22
[ERROR] Column.... 66
[ERROR] taskdef class com.puppycrawl.tools.checkstyle.CheckStyleTask cannot be found
Total time:  12 seconds

I have the checkstyle jar downloaded from ibilio and it is in my maven repository but when I run the task it can't find the jar. I know I need to add it to the classpath but I can't figure out how to do it.
