Your OO version is on your machine and there is no way to tell what version
you have on your machine without having physical access to your machine.

On my Windows system the icon on the desktop automatically displays the
version I use -- that being 4.1.1.

When I open OO, the splash screen (the screen where I click to choose Text
Document, or Spreadsheet, or whatever other program module I want to use)
automatically displays a partial report of the version -- on mine, OO 4.

Finally, when I open a  module,  say Text Document, the top line of the
tool bar has, on the right end, a radio button labeled "HELP".  Click on
the radio button and a  drop down screen appears.  The bottom entry on that
drop down screen has another radio button "About Open Office".  Click on
that radio button and details of the version and build number appear - on
mine, Version 4.1.1.
