Xindice 1.1b Setup and Running Options
Hi,
I was wondering if the new Xindice from the CVS only
runs as a webapp in Tomcat or can it run as a
standalone server as in the previous Xindice Version
1.0 (I ask because the start script no longer exists
and I heard that one of the ways to run Xindice was to
be deprecated)?
Thanks in Advance,
Julian

Mark,
Thanks a lot...I appreciate the timely and well
stated response. I will prob. end up using tomcat as
the server with cocoon doing the transform.
Thanks again for the explanation,
Julian

Julian,
It no longer runs as stand-alone. At that time it was built on a CORBA
server. The CORBA is gone. You have two choices. One is the
Tomcat and XMLRPC. The other is as an embedded Server. Which
means you could get a CORBA server and add Xindice to it.
HTH,
Mark
