[jira] [Commented] (DIRSERVER-2381) Publish a apacheds-bom POM
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-2381?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17718118#comment-17718118 ]
Emmanuel Lécharny commented on DIRSERVER-2381:
----------------------------------------------
It's actually present in the parent pom, but in a different way:
* We list all the versions as properties
* Then we have the dependencyManagement where each dependency is using the associated property.
Now, from a user perspective, I understand that using a bom pom instead would be a matter of including this bom pom instead of the parent pom. But as we always use the same version for *all* the modules, I don't really see the advantage to refer to a bom pom instead of the current parent pom.
Unless you are to pick a set of sub-modules and not project as a whole.
In any case, it's not really a big deal to define this bom pom.

> It would help simplify parent POMs for projects if ApacheDS would publish a BOM POM ("apacheds-bom").
