What will be the directory structure in the new ditribution?
What will be the start command? How will you configure the web server properties (thread count, http  properties etc)

I personally believe we should make our distro like any other servers where the distro is a tar/zip file on extracting we should get something like

solr.x.x
   |-----lib
   |-----conf (solr.properties, solrconfig.xml, schema.xml ,etc)
   |-----bin (start.sh, stop.sh, start-cloud.sh etc)
   |-----data (configure a different value from the conf dir)
