[jira] [Commented] (IMPALA-9621) Support iceberg on hdfs

Ryan Blue commented on IMPALA-9621:
-----------------------------------
Thanks for pinging me. Let me know if you guys have any questions about the format, I'm happy to help. Great to see this happening!
For our CREATE TABLE implementation, we've been using a combination of table and file format: hive_parquet or iceberg_parquet, and using a configurable table format default when we receive just the file format. That aligns with what you're doing here, except the default so that data platform admins can switch to Iceberg by default.

> We are investigating iceberg recently, and preparing to implement select iceberg data by impala. Our production use hdfs, so we will try to support iceberg on hdfs.
