Please HELP........GRAPHICS OFF

I tried OO and no graphics appear.
I cannot find a graphics icon to turn it on????

What do I do.
Cannot copy anything to Oo???

Please help

If using Writer

/Tools /Options/ OpenOffice Writer : Display : View - Graphics and objects to be checked
 (/Options is under Preferences on a Mac)
