I agree. Coffeescript is a great fit for CouchDB, but I think it's more appropriate for tooling to handle this, not built-in code.

I would like to see a contrib/ directory in the project for things like alternate-language view servers. We'll be able to move forward on stuff like this as soon as 1.0 is out.

Marking this as Later, but it's not too soon to start working on a Coffeescript query server if you are inclined.
