GSoC status

Don't miss sending student status confirmation

Josh: ATutor plug-in
Goal: Rebuild the SOAP protocol library under Apache license and REST API
Plans: resolve problems with modules (remote invocation) functionality

German: 1) network testing tool; 2) better video controls
Plans: picture of the design; learn about jitter

Dmitry: POI integration project
Apache Tika - content extraction tool
Apache ODF toolkit - API for ODF
POI:
 PPT and PPTX convertors: the highest quality
 XLS and XLSX - OK
 Word - so so
Plans: test project: utility, to convert .ppt to .png  with standart
apache poi methods

Ankur: Zimbra plug-in
trying to check how zimlets can access calenders in zimbra
Plans: 2 items: port zimlet from SOAP to REST; test zimlet to add
calendar events

You need to print/sign/scan and mail it to: secretary@apache.org

With the ICLA you grant the right to the work that you do for us to
the Apache Foundation.
Sending the ICLA would be actually the first step of becoming an
official contributor for Apache OpenMeetings Project. The next steps
(if you are willing to follow that direction) would be to show some
profidency during the Community Bonding period that is taken place
right now in the GSoC and then organize a "Vote" on the mailing list
to be accepted as contributor.

The other way of possible contributions for Non-Members of the project
is add an issue to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENMEETINGS
and attach patches/files/docs to it.
