Problem using setnameditem api

Hello there,
I was porting xerces 2.7 xmlparser for our application. It seems 
setNamedItem() modification are there- this will not return the value of 
previous node.

Used version
Xerces 2.7.0
redhat linux 9.0
 kindly give your suggestions

do you have a testcase? By looking at the code, I don't see why this 
should happen.
