is there a local Maven repo inside the Geronimo

Hi
Recently I had to integrate a new WAR into Geronimo. Then I was asked to
update my local repository recently. Now I am not sure what local repository
they are talking, Is this a repo that is inbuilt in Geronimo or is there
like a "separate independent Maven repository" where I can keep a copy of
all the artifacts for build?
