OODT session at ApacheCon NA 2013?

Hey Sally and ApacheCon NA 2013 peeps,

I'm sure it's past the deadline already for session/track submission for ApacheCon NA 2013,
but I would really enjoy organizing an OODT track -- I have some interest both from folks
at NASA JPL and NASA Goddard (CC'ed) as well as interest from other Apache community
members.

What would be the steps in making such a track happen (aka Apache in Space! #2)? A number
of us plan to attend the meeting anyways, but organizing a track would greatly facilitate the
travel approvals at least on the NASA end.

Thanks guys and let me know appreciate it.

Cheers,
Chris

Got it, so we just submit a fair share of OODT talks and from there, we can coalesce it into a track?

Cool!

Got it, OK.

Thanks Sally appreciate the help and advice!

Chris:

Sally is, unusually for her, not completely correct. In fact we have extended the deadline until Nov 11, a Sunday, because those two extra weekend days are in my experience likely to greatly increase the likelihood of submissions. Nowadays even open sourcerers are so busy that they have to wait until the weekend to find time to pursue their passion.

We still need talk and tutorial proposals, so I will be very interested to see what you come up with.

regards
 Steve

Hey Chris --you're in luck! Not too late!

This Friday is the CFP deadline, so you can definitely make submissions and get cracking on the PMC side to figure out what kinds of presos you'd like to have there.

A updated edition of "Apache in Space" would be fab, so that's great news on our end <g>

The CFP is at http://na.apachecon.com/cfp/ --once we close submissions, you can get cracking on developing the track. Also, if there's any interest in sponsorship, we can accommodate that as well.

I'm copying the ApacheCon Planners here, as they're the team who'll be handling the day-to-day programming/planning/production for the event. Most of the team are currently at ApacheCon Europe, so your patience is appreciated should there be delayed responses on their end.

Many kind thanks for your enthusiasm and support. Were excited to have you!

Warm regards,
Sally
