[jira] Created: (PROXY-5) bad link to burlap in the documentation

bad link to burlap in the documentation
---------------------------------------

                 Key: PROXY-5
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PROXY-5
             Project: Commons Proxy
          Issue Type: Task
    Affects Versions: 1.0
         Environment: any
            Reporter: olivier dupuy
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: 1.0

the link to burlap on http://commons.apache.org/sandbox/proxy/index.html is broken

As a general note, this is not the first time that I notice and report broken links in the apache projects.
I would suggest to submit "upper" to the Apache commitee the idea of having a weekly test of all the links using some automated program then to report it to each team.
I typically ask my QAs to check for broken links in the applications we develop as this helps
My 2 cts.

Thanks for the job.

Reply from Caucho...

Hi James,

I have added an entry to our bugtracker here:
http://bugs.caucho.com/view.php?id=2297

We should be able to fix it so that the existing link redirects to the
current version.

Take care,

-- Sam

I don't think it's that bad to tie it; not great but not bad.

Alternatively, we could report it to Caucho pointing out the lack of a landing page for Burlap.

The only valid link I can find to Burlap is:

http://www.caucho.com/resin-3.1/doc/burlap.xtp

But, that one ties the link to version 3.1 documentation of Resin. Maybe I should just remove the link?
