Xalan-C (1.11) Project Pre-Release Planning

I am trying to understand the available infrastructure that can be
used to create some Xalan-C pre-release builds This task is still
early, but I may be able to help coordinate the effort.

I have time to visit Oregon State University and review their
hosting of Apache Infrastructure at their Open Systems Lab.

   http://www.osuosl.org

University faculty and students help administer the site. I might
even be able to get some students to contribute time to the task
of compiling and assembling some pre-release project builds.

Sincerely,
Steven J. Hathaway

The ASF does have lots of automated build tools for a variety
of hardware and operating system platforms.

The primary purpose for the OSU visit is to contact some
of the faculty and possibly some of the students in hopes
that they can offer some software building services on
platforms where ASF build tools are not sufficently
deployed. Any relationships and working agreements will
be under the guidance of the Apache Infrastructure team.

The OSUOSL facility that hosts Apache Software Foundation
servers also has additional servers available for student projects.

Since I work not far from OSU, I may be able to offer my services
as a mentor - having 40 years of experience in the business.

What do you need? The infra team has good docs here:

Why? Related to Xalan, I reckon it's probably not helpful, but if
you're interested in infra things you may want to check out how to
volunteer there[1] - though I doubt even many of them have found it
useful to visit.
