Hi Siim,
Going through the backlog of google issues... Looking this over, I don't think there is problem, correct? Boot disks can be created at instance create time and as for images, I've just submitted https://github.com/apache/libcloud/pull/423 which will make it easier to find images I believe.
I'm going to close this out, but please re-open if there's still a problem.
