Verisign CA - which product for X509V3 certs?

This may be a little off-topic, but maybe someone went through this
process before and can help me out? I am trying to secure an axis WS
using encrypted and signed message bodies based on X509 version 3
certificates.

 

It all works fine with my own test CA, but the requirement is to get a
certificate signed by a well known CA, ideally VeriSign. Now, the
VeriSign homepage isn't clear on which of their various products
actually applies in this case, and their sales staff isn't very helpful
either.... Can an SSL certificate be used? How does an SSL certificate
differ from any other signed public key?=20

 

 

Did anyone do this before and can help me out?
