RC2 passed Policeman Jenkins with Java 11, 21, 22, 23, 24 (25 is not
supported by the Gradle of 10.x - to my knowledge):

Another update! It turns out that the bug is not in the skipper pruning code at all, but occurs when we sort by a field that does not appear in a segment. Previously this would short circuit and just return either the first n values before skipping, or skip the whole segment, but now we inadvertently disable pruning and end up checking every document in the segment. We don’t have good test coverage here, unfortunately.
I’m working on a fix now.

Adaptive pruning for skippers is merged and at least in the small scale benchmarks that Ben put together last week has fixed the problem. Thanks for your patience everyone.
I’m going to try and build something that our nightly benchmarks can run that will exercise sorting and pruning using skippers more comprehensively.

We’ve found a serious regression in the performance of sorted queries against SortedSetDocValues fields with skippers enabled, which looks like it’s due to the change to use DocValuesRangeIterator as a competitive iterator.
