[Bug 122224] New: Where exactly should be saved the language files?

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122224

            Bug ID: 122224
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Where exactly should be saved the language files?
    Classification: Application
           Product: Writer
           Version: AOO 3.4.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P3
         Component: editing
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: akonec@seznam.cz
                CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org

Work with OO 4.3.1, have downloaded more language files (Czech, Slovak, German,
French, Polish) for spellchecking etc. into my Downloaded Files directory. From
there they don´t work, but where exactly they should be installed to work? I´d
be very grateful for quick answer, because I´m working as a translator and
spellchecking in all the languages I work with is vital for me. Thanks for any
advice!

Dictionaries are extensions, you have to install them using the application:

a) from menu File - Open, browse to the extensions you downloaded and open
them, this will open the Extension Manager to install it

b) from menu Tools - Extension Manager..., then click the button "Add..." and
browse to the directory where you downloaded the extension and select it.
