german umlauts in xml-filenames

Hello list,

I'm transforming xml-documents into html using xalan-java 2.
Some xml-documents have german umlauts in their filenames. When I assign
xalan to transform these documents the processor gives me the message:
"Null Entity. XSLT Error."
Is there a possibility to solve this problem?
