[m2] looking for example reports

I need to write a report that applies an XSLT transformation to an xml 
file to spit out the right HTML.

I know I am being lazy here but is there an example of this sort of thing 
in any of the existing plugins.  The last time i did an xslt 
transformation was using cocoon1.
