How to use Notification via e-mail in slide?

Hi Guys,
            I want use notification feature in slide via  e-mail...

            when any user chekin or chekout files...

            How to ahieve this functionality and wat are 

             steps to follow that ?

            Please help me if anybody is having idea aboput this...
