[jira] [Created] (TRAFODION-596) LP Bug: 1365202 - 'init traf, drop' followed by 'init traf' hangs

Alice Chen created TRAFODION-596:
------------------------------------

Summary: LP Bug: 1365202 - 'init traf, drop' followed by 'init traf' hangs
                 Key: TRAFODION-596
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TRAFODION-596
             Project: Apache Trafodion
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: sql-general
            Reporter: Aruna Sadashiva
            Assignee: Anoop Sharma
            Priority: Critical
             Fix For: 0.9 (pre-incubation)

If we do a 'initialize trafodion, drop', then run 'initialize trafodion', dtm hangs in commit. If sqlci is killed, hbase metadata gets totally messed up, recovery from this is a very tedious process.

Sean Broeder has done some analysis, and he confirmed that initialize Trafodion, drop is the problem. This drops all the TM tables and makes the existing environment unstable, but in the meantime, if we must issue that command, stopping and restarting traf instance before init traf might work.
