   @lorenzob thank you. Actually there is the `3rdparty/googletest` submodule included in MXNet. You need to run `git submodule update --init --recursive` or clone with `git clone --recursive https://github.com/apache/incubator-mxnet/` to make sure all submodules are initialized correctly.
   
   A better error message should be provided indeed..
