[jira] Closed: (UIMA-1202) Test cases fail because of incorrect/missing text encoding handling

Thilo Goetz closed UIMA-1202.
-----------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Fixed for uimaj-core. Test cases run on windows and z/OS. There are test cases failing in other components, but I will leave those for now. Note: there was no bug in the actual core code, it was only the test cases that had problems.

> Testing on IBM mainframe under z/OS 10 reveals that some core test cases fail to handle text encoding correctly. This works on other platforms because the test cases just use ascii characters, which happen to work for most platform encodings. Not so on z/OS, where the platform encoding is ebcdic.
