    Resolution: Fixed

- Committed Paul's patch in r1096655. This was a blocker issue so it needed to get in, *but* it introduced a back incompat change in the SerDe for filemgr references going forward. If we see some issues with this, I think it can be less brittle by simply trying to cast first as Long then try casting back to int if the need arises.
