Guillaume Nodet commented on SM-761:
------------------------------------

This was more related to the servicemix-script component which allows to deploy Groovy / JRuby
scripts as endpoints. Btw, spring 2.0.2 has been released a few days ago.

For the development process, I agree this is a bit tedious ;-)
Any ideas for improving that is welcome.

Nope, Java Server Faces is a framework like Spring. In fact
the newer releases of Spring have Java Server Faces integrated
into them. Not a Scripting language like Ruby, but it
provides much the same as Ruby in that it alleviates the
burdon of writing clunky code like embeded servlets, HTML and
to some degree perl.

Kit Plummer commented on SM-761:
--------------------------------

Not sure if it is really related to this particular thread of discussion, but I can see where creating a JBI component (with the lifecycle features) in Ruby would be very handy.

Not that writing simple services in Java is painful, but the deployment process, including the Maven build can be quite tedious. Swapping a file out of a Service Assembly and redeploying to ServiceMix would be very efficient from a development/testing perspective.

Sorry, but what's the relationship between scripting and JSF ?
Do you mean Java Scripting Framework instead ?
We just need to find an ASL compatible api
(livetribe provides one at http://svn.livetribe.codehaus.org/browse/livetribe/garden/livetribe-jsr223/trunk)
but we also need to find the bindings for the different languages.
