Jetspeed not sending secret code via e-mail

I have edited the related Turbine properties file under WEB-INF in the
Jetspeed directory.

When I go to create a new account under jetspeed, nothing happens after
submitting the information.

I am running the latest J2SE SDK from Sun under SPARC/Solaris 7.

Currently the mail server is a Windows 2000/Exchange 2000 server on the
same subnet.

Any ideas or known issues with getting the secret code to mail out?
